Ski like they did in the olden days!

A “normal” day’s skiing is not enough for you? Try our barrel stave race where you compete for a place on the podium on traditional barrel stave skis. Back in the day, barrel staves were frequently repurposed in this way – one of the very few possibilities of getting hold of a pair of skis!

Today, it is all the more fun to swish down the mountain using equipment that isn’t quite as sophisticated as what we’re used to. Try your luck on these vintage “skis” – who knows, you might even win!

And if you don’t, you can drown your disappointment in a mug of mulled wine or two!

• Every Tuesday from 8:30pm on the Gampele next to the sports & culture centre
• Entry fee € 5.00
• Please wear your normal shoes – ski boots are not suitable!
